There is a large divide between these results and those of Tuscany.

This shows, to me, that the increase in West Asian begins at Lazio/Abruzzo, and there is a sharp divide between these and Tuscany/Marche/Umbria. Lazio is already southern Italian genetically.

If you look, they have elevated Caucasian input (West Asian on Eurogenes) which the Italian genetic cline is defined by an increase in Caucasus as you go south and a decrease of North European/Steppe. They do not have the elevated North African, Red Sea, etc. and this is how they differ from Italians even further south.

These are all from Frosinone in Lazio. There may be differences in the parts north of Rome.

I am posting this more in shock that there is an area in central Italy where the results change abruptly. As I said the Italian cline is due to an increase in Caucasian DNA as you go south, but I thought it was more gradual than this. Then from Lazio to Sicily, the cline is an increase in SW Asian/Red Sea type stuff.

Actually no. If you look, they have elevated Caucasian input (West Asian on Eurogenes) which the Italian genetic cline is defined by an increase in Caucasus as you go south and a decrease of North European/Steppe. They do not have the elevated North African, Red Sea, etc. and this is how they differ from Italians even further south.

These are all from Frosinone in Lazio. There may be differences in the parts north of Rome.

Frosinone is Ciociaria, more similar to Caserta than Rome, more similar to Campania than Lazio
