Stereotypically I tend to imagine them as olive-complexioned with dark hair & eyes and as very Mediterranean/Mediterranid in phenotype though a little more eastern influenced in phenotype than the Iberians.

I definitely don't think of a blonde/blue-eyed race from a stereotypical perspective...but I would imagine that as being much more common in the northern regions of Italy.
