Nah, a good way to actually see what they look like is to look at orthodox jews whom are seldom mixed or jews in areas where their living bread is not related to their face. Jewish actors, news anchors and similar are usually the most n. Euro looking to be able to blend in with the goyim.

If you google them both, you'll see they look very Jewish (although Rachel Bloom has put on a lot of weight in the last 5 years).

My point is the lack of connecting features, I guess. Ashkenazi Jews have accumulated genes from many different populations, so when genes are passed down, you get a huge range of mixing and matching - from the very brown, ME types, to the blonde, small nosed types. I guess the most Jewish looking are the halfway point - the classic too-euro-to-be-MENA-but-too-MENA-to-be Euro types.

Yeah Ashkenazim tend to look Ashkenazi regardless of which country their ancestors recently came from.

Mizrahim and Sephardim weren't running around as much as Ashkenazim were, and so even Iranian Jews look different from Iraqi Jews (as groups I mean), and Moroccan Jews look different from Syrian Jews (again, as groups). Mizrahim and Sephardim are made up of smaller ethnic groups, but Ashkenazim are just one larger ethnic group.

Western Ashkenazim (from Germany, France and the Netherlands) are slightly different from Eastern European Ashkenazim, but they don't look any different from Eastern European Ashkenazim from what I've seen.

Why would this be the case if nearly all of Russian and German Jews are descended from Polish Jews annexed by Russia and Prussia during the partitions of Poland? According to Russian historian Kabuzan, in 1719 there were no Jews in Russia, and one century later there were 1 million Jews in Russia, most of them in lands acquired from Poland-Lithuania. As an example, my dad has remarried to an Afrikaans Jew (she's a convert, so racially she's just Afrikaans), and when he went to visit her family in South Africa, one of my stepmum's nieces commented on how incredibly pale he was. Now, he is paler than the average AJ, but nothing out of the ordinary - point being, AJs are on the whole a pretty pale population. Not NW Euro pale, but more like Central Euro pale.

Not to say there aren't a very decent proportion of olive-coloured AJs!

They're mostly good examples but Sara Gilbert doesn't look Jewish at all (quite atypical for someone who is fully Jewish), Jake Gyllenhaal is half Scandinavian and I don't seen any Jewish influence in him, and Adam Levine looks Jewish but mixed with something else (which he is). There are plenty of non-Jews who "resemble the Nazi caricature" just fine. And just because we're "diverse in terms of phenotypes" doesn't mean that everyone "looks Jewish."

I once met a half Sephardi half Ashkenazi guy on another anthroforum who claimed that the majority of Ashkenazi Jews look like Germans, and when I asked him how it's possible considering Ashkenazi Jews (pure ones of course) are genetically very different from Germans, he said: "The Jewish looking ones were wiped out in the Holocaust." And when I would post photos of West Asian/South Euro/distinctively Jewish-looking pure Ashkenazi Jews, he would accuse me of antisemitism.

I just want to show everyone that the majority of fully blooded Ashkenazi Jews are perfectly normal looking for what their genetic composition is and where they cluster genetically, and that the Jewish-looking ones weren't wiped out during the Holocaust. I hate it when people associate us with blonde haired, blue eyed WASPy looking people.

I've also noticed that people say that Ashkenazi Jews "looking Jewish" is a result of "inbreeding," even though I could find a lot of people from West Asia and Southern Europe who "look Jewish" lol. Honestly I see almost no phenotypical difference between Sicilians and Ashkenazim, especially in parts of the island where Greek input is low and there is higher MENA admixture, and almost all of the European input is West European.

explaination for their inabitual look),but infortunatly i Guess that if i presented them as ashkenazim for a classification,some would have classify them as italians.. and they dont fit AT ALL as italians.. like Many other well known jews who just pass as mena, are closest to lebanese or North middle easterns. But i think thé most dont Ever Gone to Israël and other middle eastern countries and have strong stéréotypes.. lebenese are thé closest by look for me, there are very light lebanese and bédouins looking lebanese, like in Israël, being blond blue eyes IS not something impossible on North middle east, but they wont argue of those blond blue êyes lebanese to be not middle eastern.. that irritating..
