Dont see this, really. Macron and the French in general push for the EU Army, while Germany luckily doesnt even want it. But with Merkel you never can be sure.

Looks like the Germans have already began this project.

Looks more like a extended German army. Similar to the Waffen SS.

It would be good if Europe would stop relying only on America.

No need. Germany 41 billion, Russia 69 billion (2016). Half of Russian spending magically disappears every year. roughly 35 billion for 1 million ill equipped post-Soviet kasha eating soldiers. Soviet weapons and systems are crap, constantly stutter and break for no reason. A country that can't even produce normal drinkable milk, cannot produce any effective weapon systems. Russians even got their asses kicked by Ukrainian volunteers a few years back. If Kremlin dwarf chooses to invade, it will be WW2 over again. 10 to 1 loses, Russian corpses making Ukrainian black soil ever more fertile.

Ukraine Special Forces played a huge role.

It would be good if Europe would stop relying only on America.

Tell that to the likes of Poland, cause Western Europe doesn't need the US for shit. And I don't even think Poland does, but they're still scared shitless of an invasion from Russia, apparently. The way they select their allies is more concerning. All NATO has done for Europe so far has been to mutilate the Balkans and pressure our nations into buying US-made weapons, weakening our industries, military autonomy and thus sovereignty. Know your enemy. (But yeah, be firm and smart when dealing with Russia, it does require both balls and brains)

Ce n'est pas vrai.

History of France and Europe says the opposite. France needed the USA and other allies in 1944 after all, because France couldn't stand alone against Nazi Germany. Not because France was weak, pas du tout. In fact, nobody could fight Nazi Germany alone. The Soviet Union couldn't, the Soviets had a massive help from the USA.

And you, do you seriously wish to say that small Eastern European countries would have a chance against Russia ? Never ever. It is even doubtful that such countries as Britain, France or Germany would stand alone against Russia.

That's why NATO is a good idea, and the European army is an excellent idea.

France and Britain together are very powerful.

France and Britain together are very powerful.

But they aren't together. So far the only long-lasting cooperation is via NATO. However, if we would imagine a very fantastic scenario of Britain and France being one country, well, then it would be comparable to Russia and even stronger by military and population.

France has always done their own thing but they are a powerful nation.

Remember when people at the top of British politics said the EU army was a "dangerous fantasy"?

I remember.
