Hey guys,

My Y DNA is R2a, so I am just curious to see how many Y DNA R2 people are here, and where do you guys belong to.

I am from Kashmir, and my Y DNA is R2a.

Very probably also IE, personally I am almost sure, but need some more data to prove it :)

I doubt it's an IE haplo. It seems to be linked to the Middle east and south Asia from what I can see, although I remember seeing that R2 came up in ancient samples from the Middle East

Agree! I doubt R2 IE too. It is higher in frequency in the Central Asia and South Asia.

I am shocked for Armenia. 17.3% of 104 samples have Y DNA R2.

Yes, some Armenians do have R2. While R1b is the most common Armenian Haplogroup, there are quite a number of other Haplogroups among Armenians.

One, not confirmed, but guessed.
It was from Media anyway, so it wouldn't be
bothering if some early migrations happend there.

R2 pattern Z93, and if you beliive, that R2 is
descendent from R*, then R* was 3/4 EHG,
ergo, R2 should be also, then I had to be IE
too. At the time of migrition to Inida it could
be one guy, or one family. R2 propotionaly
is growing if you look into history comparing
to R1, so, statistically it is also a young clade.
