Ok so i went tinkering with GEDMATCH again and i looked up kit numbers on google and i found found a list of a few people, so i just decided to pick a Saudi Arabian and look how alike our results are it's insane.

could it just be that specifically Gedrosia K3 is just a bad test with bad oracles? and thus is showing me as having similar results to a full Arab? Most likely haha, however im curious to see what our results would be on Ancient Eurasia K6 because that test seems to work best for me along with Gedrosia K3 and Eurasia K9 ASI.

OK big difference here noticably, however me being over half european, 17-23% Middle eastern and 23-30% african i think my results are waaaayyy too middle eastern based dont you think?


last test is ASI K9 because it very accurately shows my percentage of SW_Asian and Caucasus etc.

ok so i think these tests very accurately show my percentage of middle eastern, only i am totally NOT certain where it could originate from, can anyone possibly assist me? I know i am being very annoying constantly posting only middle-eastern related subjects but it's the only thing that i don't know for certain yet and once i know for sure where it could be from i'd most likely stop with this research haha.

Oh that way, it makes sense yeah because Yemen is not showing up on any other Gedrosia or any other Gedmatch test besides Gedrosia K3, the results i am getting the most frequently are Jordanian, Kurd_E, Kurd_F, Palestinian, and Iranian. Especially Iranian, on every Gedrosia test i score Iranian so that could mean something, i don't really know. Do you happen to know how to trace down specific middle eastern ancestry? Since you are Kurdish Gedrosia probably works best for you aswell, however do you also know which tests OUTSIDE of Gedmatch i can use? I would really appreciate your help man i am having huge struggles here tryna figure out my Middle eastern Origins and its paining me Dx

you cant take the population approximations too literally . they dont mean that you have ancestry from those ethnicities it gives you . it just means that it takes the values of the components you score and then splits you into 2 populations from the spreadsheet which then approximately would come near to what you score

Yeah well to put it simply, i scored Yemeni on Gedrosia K3, and it was my lowest oracle i've ever scored on any test on Gedmatch, and so me the noob i was back then thought i had Yemeni ancestry -_- ..... But yeah i might not be part yemeni specifically even though i wish i was cuz i love Yemen but i am most likely partially middle eastern because on every single test i scored Middle Eastern.

For example

MyHeritage: 6.1% Middle eastern
AncestryDNA: 3% Middle eastern (0-6% range), 2% central asian (0-4% range) < Also i don't trust AncestryDNA because it just bluntly put 60% british in my results which makes me think the amount of british they gave me is inaccurate because me being as mixed as hell cannot belong to 1 population that much. All other tests i've done don't even show me as being that english.

Gencove: 14% Eastern Mediterranean (I assume they mean the Levant with that, even though the reference populations were Greece, Albania, Sicily etc.)
DNA.LAND: 13% Mediterranean Islander (Behind the Mediterranean Islander it also showed 13% Ashkenazi/Levantine, so i don't know what to think of that, it could be Med or Levantine.)



And basically every single Gedmatch test there is tells me i have around 4-32% middle eastern so i am also confused on the exact percentage. However it would make sense if it were around 20%, because when i look at my mom's family.. They are all medium-brown to brown skinned, almost all of them except 2 people in my mom's family have black hair, most have afro-hair but some are also black with straight hair. And when i look at my grandpa. He look's VERY, VERY Eritrean or Sudanese to me because his facial features are very arab-like, he has a large aquiline nose, in general close-set eyes, and decently sharp features and he ALSO had black straight hair and he's also as black as my mother was. So that's very odd assuming pure africans don't have black straight hair, so that made me also think that the middle eastern could indeed be more legit than i thought.

Anyways here's the percentages i think my mom has.
47-50% african, 20-25% european, 20-34% Middle eastern, i don't know the exact percentages because all my family is mixed as hell and i also do have tiny bits of east asian and south asian and Native american as all gedmatch tests and also MyHeritage, Gencove, DNA.LAND, and other tests tell me.

lol how does this make you think you have middle eastern ancestry ? these attributes are not even common things in the "middle east" except in the south and even then afro hair is not common even there

you first have to understand that there is no such thing as "middle eastern" to begin with . there is no ethnical unity . an assyrian is very different from a yemeni for example

and you score only a few percent middle eastern on the tests which means that it is unlikely that you have (much) middle eastern ancestry . on gedmatch you get more because it goes further back ...it likely comes from your european part because europeans score some "middle eastern" on gedmatch too especially south europeans . east africans score a lot too and come out basically like a mix of peninsular arabians and west africans
