X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time.

Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Well I guess the fact that you guys think January Jones and James McAvoy look ugly is a testament to the awfulness of those pictures, because neither of them are. In fact, this is an extremely good-looking, talented cast. I'm hoping the movie is good, but based on the choice of characters and these stills, I don't have that much hope. It looks awfully low-budget for a superhero movie.

And yeah, according to Wikipedia this flick's budget is about $90 mil lower than than X-Men: Last Stand.

Anyway, I have more hope for the movie after seeing the trailer but I'm still skeptical.

Not a fan. James McAvoy is so hot, though.
And, the lighting and angles of the photos are indeed dreadful, the colour schemes are weird and it looks like they cranked up the contrast when they post-processed.
Ever heard of "nobody looks good in that light"? This is one of those cases.
