I bet at least 30% but just a guess on my part.

I find that hypothesis unlikely since it would mean that for each one million at least three hundred thousand are adopted or born as a result of a love affair.

An estimate of 0,5% to 1% seems more realistic but with that said I am just speculating and not basing it on any data.

Think about how people are these days. I know about three woman who have three kids from three different men. People play.

That's one particular case and even though such dysfunctional families do exist they aren't the norm or that epidemic yet to assume a 30% figure.

At least definitely not from a Portuguese society perspective.

The U.S. is full of dysfunction. Apples and oranges comparing it with Portugal.

Lets assume that everybody in the U.S. does a DNA test.

30% of 326,326,020 (U.S. estimated population) = 978,978,06

Do you still find it realistic?

Three out of every ten. Possible.

Adoptees usually learn they were adopted when they grow up. And extramarital children are not that common (I mean from a different man). Maybe 1-3% or so.

That might be the case in Belarus but that is not how it is in the U.S.

That is the case everywhere, buddy.

No it's not.

1-3% sounds about right. I imagine most adoptees and illegitimate children know about it before testing, and overall I doubt they make more than 15% of any country.

1 in 25 is more like it

Even this sounds inflated for most countries, other than GB and USA.

That is pretty high for a country with the population of the U.S. Thanks for the link. I'm glad to see my 30% guess was high but the vast majority have not been tested here and this country has become very liberal the past ten years.

The link is for UK. However US is more conservative than UK so it's just a speculation.

I doubt we are more conservative. That is a myth. This country is very liberal these days as far as things like relationships and sex. Those numbers will climb quite a bit as more people test.

I don't think so, the younger generation is more conservative than the older ones. 20 smth vs 40 smth

Millennials are having less sex than any generation in 60 years.

They are video game and tech nerds. No hot chick digs a geek. :D Besides, many of the women are lesbians and feminism here has conditioned them to despise men. The information you provide does not seemingly match the things I know and see around where I live. But this is just a small portion of America.
