Anyway, Brazil census in the colonial type had mulatto category and they were almost the majority in places like Rio de janeiro, now people wants to say every mulatto is black. When I watch some novelas about colonial periods, they always use words like " caboclo" "mulatto" etc the elite as well. The elite(politics and diplomats) used to call Machado mulatto as it says here
