I'm confused because a decent portion of my family is from England and Scotland yet instead I got quite a bit of Europe west which doesn't make much sense considering I don't even look Germanic.

The Anglo-Saxons were a Germanic tribe and their DNA is all over the British Isles. It kinda stops starkly about where their expansion stopped: the Welsh border. If your family is largely from England or Scotland, you're most likely going to have more in common genetically with people in Northern Germany/The Netherlands than you will with people from, say, Ireland or Wales. There was a lot more genocide than interbreeding going on during the Saxon diaspora. Although it looks like you've got a pretty even split between the two, so your family is probably the exception to the rule.
