Right.

My stats are: 35 years of age, height 186 cm, weight ... about 15 kilograms more than I'd like.

Which is the reason I requested membership in the Apricity shrinkers.

My goal is to reach my desired weight by the end of this year. This is no doubt what many would consider a fairly modest goal, but I have no interest in miracle diets or radical changes in lifestyle, that in my experience usually don't last. Or in having my weight yo-yo'ing back and forth. Therefore I want to make permanent changes in my lifestyle, that hopefully will cause my weight to start dropping naturally.

I have never dieted before, and more or less eaten what I wanted. I have no particular knowledge of nutrition theory, beyond the usual conventional wisdom of avoiding too much fat, salt and sugar, and not neglecting to eat your greens. So far I've eliminated added sugar (from coffee etc.) and switched to fat-free milk. I already have given up alcohol and (and tobacco) some time ago. My Achilles's heel is probably sweet treats like cookies, donuts, Danish pastries, bearclaws etc. :(

I'm hemiparetic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemiparesis), which causes problems in the exercise department. For example, jogging, cycling and swimming are out of the question, as is most types of gym training. However I do aquajogging (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquajogging) regularly and intend to go up to 3-4 times per week for about an hour at a time.

Besides that, as far as I know I'm in perfect health. Any comments/suggestions?
