He was born in year 1666 in Altenberg, Saxony (map):

Autosomal coverage is not so bad (318 k SNPs):

"(...) Within the scope of this project, a complete mtDNA sequence from the skeletal remains of George Bähr and additionally a set of 317,990 SNPs from his autosomes were retrieved. Standard examination of characteristic damage patterns on the initial shotgun screening data and the mitochondrial capture data suggest an ancient origin for the investigated remains. Very low contamination estimates on mitochondrial and Y-Chromosomal level also showed that the retrieved DNA was authentic and no modern human contamination was found. George Bähr’s maternal haplogroup was determined to be H35 and the Y haplogroup was determined to be R1b1a2a1a2-P312, both commonly found in Central European modern populations. Based on phenotypic analysis, George Bähr had brown eyes, light skin pigmentation and was able to digest lactose in adulthood. The population genetic analysis of ancestry with both f3f3 and f4f4 statistics as well as an ADMIXTURE analysis on the set of 317,990 SNPs confirmed previous findings on the mitochondrial level: George Bähr was of Central European descent and shared no additional genetic components with populations outside Europe. Unfortunately, there is not much of a historic record on George Bähr’s private life. Thus any information that can be obtained on a genetic level that elucidates and enlarges information on him could be important, given his contributions to the history of the city of Dresden. (...)"

Wow, it was he that built the Frauenkirche in Dresden.

Do you have the possibility to make a GEDmatch kit?!

I think GEDmatch no longer accepts uploads of ancient DNA samples. There is an error when uploading such samples.

Are there any WHG, EEF, and Steppe samples on Gedmatch? I'd love to see Eurogenes K13 and K15 for them

What a loss!

I know someone that uploaded Theo the pipe smoker but he got a special permission, I think.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theo_the_Pipe_Smoker

He has GEDmatch # KF5520131.

Do you know whether a one-to-many or a one-to-one comparison can be performed offline with a tool?

If you send me his GEDmatch compatible DNA raw data kit I can try to get him uploaded. In worst case I'd ask the same guy that uploaded Theo.

I successfully uploaded Ladislaus the Saint (kit KJ9269628) but I think it was before GEDmatch changed its policy on ancient samples. I can prepare a GEDmatch compatible raw data for George Baehr.

It worked but I only could get him as a research kit. Everyone should be able to perform a One-to-one comparison. But he's not in the One-to-many function/database.

But I'll ask the guy I know if he will get him in fully functional.
