I think he would stand out because of having some East African-like features.

He looks halfway between Ethiopian and West Asian to me.

Not really, but maybe as extremely atypical.

True Egyptians (Copts) look like this. Muslim "Egyptians" are mostly of Arabian migrant stock.

The guy you just posted is 1/8 Greek. So he does not look typical for Egyptian Copts even.

Not in the Levant, but maybe in around the Arabian Peninsula.

Is 1/8 really enough to influence the phenotype significantly? Especially since they're both Mediterranean ethnicities

Yes, Egyptians look nothing like Greek or European of any kind.

I think this guy shows it’s more facial feature wise

As atypical. Also, I don't see any negroid traits at all.

Yes, Egyptians look nothing like Greek or European of any kind.

Either way, my point about Copts being the original Egyptians still stands.

He can, but he fits better in the southern Levant like Jordan and Palestine than say in Syria or Lebanon for me.

They are. They're the modern day descendants of the Ancient Egyptians. Muslim Arab Egyptians have some native Egyptian blood, but also a lot of Saudi and Levantine.

What makes you think Copts are pure bloods? Under the Hyksos period, some Asian admixture would have came in with the invading Assyrians and co. Egypt was also ruled by Europeans which would have caused some Southern European admixture to enter. All that happened before either Christianity or Islam entered Egypt. Both Christian and Muslim Egyptians are mostly of ancient Egyptian origin, but the Egyptian Muslims probably have a bit more recent foreign blood. Though Egyptian Muslims are a large population and would vary by region.

They're not entirely pure, but they're much purer than the Muslim Arabs who now live in Egypt

And the Copts kept Egyptian culture alive much longer

He's not a pure-blooded Egyptian just because he has olive skin and blue eyes.

Phenotype =/= genotype

Here are some Ancient Egyptian GEDmatch results: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/showthread.php?214734-Ancient-Egyptians-on-GEDmatch

One sample seems to be closest to modern Bedouins, one closest to modern Egyptians, and one roughly equidistant to both Bedouins and Egyptians.

There are no Copts in GEDmatch oracle so it's hard to compare them against Copts, but I thought people here might find it interesting.

I guess this debunks the "WE WUZ KANGZ" theory, then.

It depends honestly. I mean, we can be very light or very dark.
