Scotland is about to get hit with a dose of modern Estonian style in the form of an exhibition entitled "Boom. Room. New Estonian Architecture," which opens February 2 at the Glasgow School of Art.

The exhibition presents a selection of buildings that appeared from 2000 to 2008 during Estonia's period of rapid economic growth, according to the event's supporter, the Estonian Centre of Architecture.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a seminar featuring Chairman of the Estonian Centre of Architecture Ülar Mark and Estonian Academy of Arts Professor Toomas Tammis. Martin Aunin, recipient of the Young Estonian Architect of the Year award, and Margit Aule of LIFT11 and KAOS Architects will showcase their work during the talks.

Boom Room first opened in Estonia in 2008 and has since travelled to Berlin, Sofia and London. The exhibit in Glasgow will run through February 22, after which it will move to Helsinki for a March 2 opening.
