Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck im excited for this new feature to roll out, but a bit disappointed in the fact that they dont have Angolan in their African population, its extremely stupid since many Angolans were taken as slaves to the New World, especially Mexico and Brazil

these are my mom's african results, im assuming the East African component will vanish from her since the East African component will be mainly Arabnized East Africans, and those percentages will head to Broadly Sub Saharan African since that is where the other bantu east africans are in

west africa will end up being like Cameroon since they are the most similar to Bantus and my black ancestry is Angolan who are central africans

"EVERYONE!!!! These things with dots near them are not new reference populations. You will not get a specific percentage from each of these "dots". These dots basically show how much you "resemble" (genetically speaking) all of these groups of people. So nothing has really changed in terms of specific reference percentages!"


its so stupid, what was the point of trying to test all these black africans if they are using their dna for stupid shit
i wonder how things will look for us though since we are new world mix people with black ancestry

Bit off topic but how come the 23andme subforum is locked while the other genetic service ones are open? Since that's the only one I happened to get. What does it take to be part of the regulars usergroup?

i think its due to privacy reasons, not sure to be honest
i guess to be part you need to have more post or something, i dont remember, ive been a member for a while now
