Estonia has behaved like a Scandinavian country (http://balticbusinessnews.com/article/2011/1/26/estonia-has-behaved-like-a-scandinavian-country)

Estonia may indeed one day become one of EU’s five richest countries, but simply because the others are impoverishing faster than us, believes academician Endel Lippmaa.

„The future is actually very bright for Estonia, but provided that we continue with current policies and don’t borrow from abroad in large scale,“ he says.

Lippmaa adds that Estonia simply had to join the eurozone since many countries are struggling with debts. „We should stop talking about the three Baltic states since only two are left. Estonia is no longer a Baltic country, it behaved like Scandinavian country.“

According to Lippmaa, Estonia has done everything the right way and concludes: „I am very satisfied with the way things have gone.“

That's great actually. I think that only a few dozen school students in Valga have the opportunity to learn Latvian. I have read from newspapers and such that many Latvians learn Estonian, while no Estonians learn Latvian.

I haven't heard about Latvians learning Estonian. But in this case it applies only to my school.
There are few gymnasiums in Rīga, where you can learn different languages.
French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese - besides English and German/Russian which is in every school.
In my school you can learn Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Finnish.

Leaving the off-topic posts aside, here's the difference between ethnoculturally Nordic Estonia and ethnoculturally Baltic Latvia.
