First Gracile Meds we know of are actually from Central Europe. So it could be the result of Northern types getting reduced by "smaller" genes, since that mixing area is where Alpines are found (Coon actually said that Alpines are reduced Borreby-likes, but he also speculated that the reduction could come from Med influence, so there). But we don't really know any details.
