How so?

Surprised that there's more North African than Middle Eastern.

Trapani is genetically outlying for Sicily for that reason as well as higher Norman input. They also seem to have Greek input as well.

This my grandma?

Yes. I blocked out the name for privacy reasons but I posted this because someone messaged me requesting I post someone from Trapani, considering that the Sarno et al 2017 study showed Trapani is genetically distinct for Sicily (in that it is shifted closer to Greece and that there is also higher "northern" ancestry).

I am interested to see what she will get.

Do you think it is likely she has actual ancient Greek ancestry? The North African makes sense.

I think maybe. Her maiden name comes from the Greek language. I read a book on the history of Sicily and really Sicily has been everything except Italian until very recently.

I've seen people scoring 30% Middle Eastern on 23andme and scoring 90% Italian and some Caucasus and Middle Eastern on AncestryDNA. These scores are just random.

Upload the same Genome file 3 time and you'll see 3 significantly different results (especially the MENA percentages will shift up and forth between different regions). Especially with data from other companies like FTDNA, 23andme (V3) and AncestryDNA. On one occasion I got almost 5% North African and I've seen Dutch people who score 2% North African.
