Except that the genes don't really contradict any of it. In fact, they agree perfectly with Coon's description of Mesolithic North Africans in Origin of Races as predominantly Caucasoid with significant ''native African'' admixture. Obviously, they became much more Caucasoid later on with the Neolithic expansion from the Near East and other Eurasian invasions/migrations, while the slave trade partially reversed the trend since the Muslims arrived, same as in Egypt.


This is probably correct.

This study suggests that the first North Africans might have come north from sub-Saharan Africa, rather than South from Israel as sometimes suggested.
