His features remind me of a couple of South Americans I have met in the past, however his pigment is more "tanned."
I can't say where he would specifically fit as there aren't many Mexicans or SA's here in AUS and I haven't visited either of those places, but I'm fairly confident he'd be from those general areas. I'm not sure what you mean by "old world."

I see. By Old World, it means places like Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania. I contrast it with New World which is the Americas both north and south.

Yeah I personally don't see him passing in the Old World, but then again I'm not an expert.
