The thread was not about to compare them to Sicilians but to compare them to one another.

The fact that they share 3 common populations in their closest 5 is more significant than what they get after their top 10.
Serbia is fairly irrelavant it commes at place 18 even after Cypriot which is at place 16.
And i have never seen a Mainland Greeks result form Central or South Greece at least which gets Serbian in their top 5 yeah
not even in their top 10.
The only Balkan things that are possible to pop up in Mainlanders top 10 are Albanian,Kosovar or Bulgarian.

When they get Serbian they get it beyond their first 10 and Cretans can get this also sometimes in these ranks.

Whatever the Sicilian sample is made of it doesn't change the fact that it is in the Mainlander's top 5 along with Ashkenazy Jewish,Abruzzo and Central Greek before Albanian.

SW Euro is the same in both of them"less than 1% difference" and this probably the most significant in terms of common Mycanaean ancestry.

The main difference is in their NE Euro component which is fine given the North influence in these Islands is lower but the Islander gets some of it

They also talk about "Levantine ancestry" in Calabria, which is funny because was never conquered by Moors/Arabs and those few times she was raided the Calabrians retreated en mass to the mountains to avoid getting killed or captured as slaves. There's nothing "Arab" in Calabria's history, after the fall of the Roman empire she has been under the Ostrogoths, then under the Greeks, Normans, French, Spaniards, Aragonese... Until 100 years ago in Calabria you could find people speaking (apart from the Romance dialects) Greek, Albanian, Occitan but no-one spoke Arabic. South Italian dialects have many words of French and Spanish origin and those of Arabic origin are so few that you can count them on the fingers of your right hand.

Ok If Central Greece is the baseline then which populations of that region would you consider most representative? It wouldn't be Cyclades because they plot in a radically different direction that Boetians. I may consider Euobea as baseline. I guess you could say that Central Greece is the most diverse region South of Thessaly. I"m not sure of the sample size from Cyclades vs. other regions of Central Greece. To me the Peloponnese is the most uniform area (overall) not including Tsakonians and Maniots so why not the Peloponnese as baseline?
