View Full Version : WTF happened with 23andme kits on Gedmatch ?
Hi there,
My bestfriend just uploaded her 23andme raw data to Gedmatch and it comes to a new app called Genesis - Gedmatch a bit different from the former Gedmatch, giving to her a kit number that cannot be used on the former Gedmatch website.
So when I want to use her kit number to check calculators and oracles for her, my Gedmatch cannot work and tells me that this kit number doesn't exist.
How can we use her kit number to run it on the former Gedmatch ? How can we use both or our kits to compare our results etc now ?
NB : she's concerned by the V5 version of 23andme results or so, got her results last months.

I think it has to do with the new v5 chip .It probably can't be standardized with the generic method, but I'm just guessing.

I've compared two closely related people on genesis and stock gedmatch and didn't notice anything extraordinary. As mentioned above, one was on the older chip and one on v5 which required genesis.

She probably got the new chip that's the main reason. Mine still works on gedmatch for me but I had gotten the test for a while.

Yes you're right, that's the cause of the problem it seems.
So I asked her to try to run my own kit number on her new gedmatch app and it doesn't work neither.
The new and the old app just don't communicate, how can we solve this ?
Of course her kit number works on her new app and my kit number works on the old app for me, but we can't compare our kits neither use each others kit numbers to check into calcs etc...
How can we compare "old kits" with these "new kits" ?

How did you succeed ? my app doesn't recognize her kit number and her app (genesis) doesn't recognize mine.

I think you should try to upload your raw data on Genesis in order to compare with her.
V5 on 23andme is crap, the previous one was much better for GEDmatch.
