Al-Qaeda's view on Taimour Al-Abdaly, the Swedish suicide bomber:
AQAP's English-Language Inspire Magazine Hails Swedish Bomber Taimour Al-Abdaly and British Attacker Roshonara Choudhry, Calls Their Actions Examples of 'Borderless Loyalty' To Islam

The latest issue of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP) English-language magazine Inspire, published on January 16, 2011, featured an article by Muhammad Al-Sana'ani (also written Al-San'ani) dedicated to Swedish suicide-bomber Taimour Al-Abdaly and British national Roshonara Choudhry, who stabbed U.K. parliament member Stephen Timms in May 2010. The article, titled "Roshonara and Taimour: Followers of the Borderless Loyalty," hails both individuals for their actions in fulfilling their religious duty, calling their jihad a fard 'ayn (individual obligation). The author further uses the case of Roshonara Choudhry, in which a woman rather than a man "answered the call of Allah" to incite those Muslim men to follow in her footsteps, saying: "To the men of the Ummah: Take the example of this woman and you will find success in the afterlife." According to the author, both individuals acted based on what he calls a "borderless loyalty" to Islam.
Roshonara Choudhry was sentenced to life in prison last November for her attempted murder of former MP Timms; however, in Al-San'ani's opinion, she "did not throw away her life for nothing…Rather, she has helped the religion of Allah with her deed…"
Al-San'ani uses the case of Roshonara Choudhry to appeal to Muslim men, scoffing at them for not following in her footsteps by saying: "A woman has shown to the ummah's men the path of jihad! Shame on all the men for sitting on their hands while one of our women has taken up the individual jihad!"
As for Taimour Al-Abdaly, the author refers to him as hero, saying that he, like Choudhry, has fulfilled his individual duty towards Allah, adding that the operation against Sweden was "long overdue," a reference to the Lars Wilks Muhammad cartoons controversy.
Al-San'ani asks the Swedish government to rethink its position towards Islam and Muslims "before the mujahideen strike again," saying that Taimour's operation "may serve as a reminder for the Swedish government and people to reconsider their position before their list of crimes against us becomes too long, and it becomes too late."
Al-San'ani ends his article with a message to the kuffar (infidels), saying: "The borderless loyalty is a religious sentiment of the people in your midst. As long as the Muslims remain in your focus, you will remain in ours. No matter the security precautions you may take, you cannot kill a borderless idea."
