Yucatan Cuisine


It is a blend of Mayan, European, Middle Eastern/North African and Asian influences. Yucatán cooks have learned to stuff peppers with Dutch Edam cheese and have taken to serving Lebanese kibbeh with salsa. Today, Yucatecos eat plenty of turkey, cook with a variety of recados or spice mixes (more on these in a moment), and make tamales that Diana Kennedy says put the rest of Mexico's to shame.

Mexico is pretty diverse, a lot of Americans tend to settle in cities like Ensenada, it has a huge American population, and it also similar to many California beach cities, I mean you wont even notice you left California at all. The food is very food and the locals are nice people, I think the crime is low as well

I guess it all depends on what type of style you are into, you are into the big city life then I would suggest either Monterrey or Mexico City, Guadalajara is also a very good place. If you are more of a small town guy then your place would be San Miguel de Allende, tons of Americans live there and they love it. If you are all about the beach life then I would go for Ensenada since its close to California

Quintana Roo Cuisine

The Mexican state of Quintana Roo features a coastline that stretches from Cancun to Belize. As a result, seafood heavily influences the traditional cuisine of the state and various dishes take advantage of the abundance of tropical produce available. Culinary influences from Mayan culture also appear in dishes as well as European, Middle Eastern and Asian influences.

The people of Quintana Roo

Majority of their population lives in their most touristic areas, the most populated is the municipality of Benito Juarez, the most populated city from Benito Juarez is Cancun where over 90% of its population living there. Second largest municipality by population is Othon P. Blanco, where over 80% of their population living in Chetumal. The next largest and most populated municipality would be Solidaridad where over 90% of its population living in Playa del Carmen. Cancun has big problems with illegals, I think they need a Mexican Donald Trump so they can started deporting these nasty illegals off of Mexican lands, they can go make their lands a paradise with their magic white genetics. Leave our Caribbean alone!!!


In Cancun, 104,110 foreigners live, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), which corresponds to 14% of the inhabitants of the city. The inhabitants of Quintana Roo are 1,501,562, and the foreign population that visits the state or stays to live are mainly from Cuba, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia and the United States

The updated INM report shows that of the 150,000 illegal aliens who enter Mexico annually, 30% do so through Quintana Roo and a high proportion of those immigrants stay in Cancun, followed by Playa del Carmen and Tulum. The Institute has detected a modus operandi of foreign visitors who legally enter the country, but during their stay they carry out actions that are not allowed in their condition as tourists, making their stay in the country illegal. The main countries that incur these practices are Argentina, Cuba, Belize, Guatemala, Chile, Honduras and more recently Colombia.
