The Siege of Baler (June 30, 1898-June 2, 1899) is the defense of the last Spanish position in the Philippines. For almost a year, 54 Spanish soldiers resisted the attack of 400 Tagalog soldiers from inside the small church of Baler.

After 337 days, the Lieutenant Saturnino Martín Cerezo and his companions, left the church, ragged with the mozeur mildewed, without ammunition, many edentulous, but they left with honor of the church that had protected them for 337 days, parading with Martial of four on the bottom proud and with the head well raised, receiving the honors of the Tagalas troops.

They continued to fight when the war was over and Spain had lost the Philippines.

theres alot of stories in Philippines regarding Spaniards/ americans.. that needs to be told or put in movies...

hopefully it will catch peoples attention/interest to bridge the history together.
