Is ice cream a food or a drink?

Svipdag provided the correct answer. But, I should add this: As for ice-cream, it's a food (as Svipdag explained), the same way that a popsicle is a food. With milkshakes, ice-cream is the primary ingredient; often times, milk is added to milkshakes.

So long as it's solid and consumed with a spoon, then it's a food.

If it's melted into a milkshake, then it becomes a drink sipped through a straw.

And if it's used as a skin cooler in the heat, then it becomes a facepack. :P
