How did you come up with that?

First of all the more significant reference population is not even Greek but Central Italian!
The results are not unusual, there is a gradual increase of more northern dna as you go more north.
This guy has very similar results as mine, Pella is very close to the town where I am from so the people from nearby are very similar.

This is what I get on the same calculator: 76.4% C_Italian (Dodecad) + 23.6% Russian (HGDP) @ 3.42

This is what a Thessalian gets: 73.8% S_Italian_Sicilian (Dodecad) + 26.2% Russian (Dodecad) @ 2.52
This a result posted by Sikeliot.
He doesn't get Central Italy as a reference, but South Italy.
And mind you, Thessaly is more to the south of Pella, Cental Macedonia.
Still, you can see that there is a gradual increase as you go more north which is something normal.

Greeks were not untouched by great migrations of Slavs.

This northern affinity surely did arrive in middle ages and there is no point to deny it. It is not like he is Slavic, he is mostly Hellene but slavic admixture is there.

Pella has traditionally been a Slavophone area. These results are not surprising. Compare with a Greek Macedonian from Pieria or Chalkidiki and you will see the difference.

Well those places are still more southern of Pella and we have some members here from Pieria, Kouros I think, who already posted his results and they were just a little bit more southern shifted as expected.

Kouros' results were from 23andme which does not provide many snps for gedmatch. I think that people from Chalkidiki will be more southern shifted. Slavs were not living there before 1923.

His parents are from Almopia, only few kms far from the border with Fyrom and Bulgaria, and in Greek Macedonia according to old official census there was a large Bulgarian and Slavic community. So I think it's not so strange. But his Y-DNA doesn't seem to be Slavic: I2a2b-L38.

As you go more to the west, to Kastoria, there are more results which are shifted towards Italian Abruzzo and Tuscany, but east of that, the results are shifted towards Bulgaria...

Well, that doesn't make sense because those results are not because of that but because people from Central Macedonia regardless Greek speaking or Slavic speaking, are immediate between the Greek_Thessaly reference and the Bulgarian reference.

Mate, you need to get to know better this region and it's history.
There were no such borders in the past as today and people from Central Macedonia did mix among each other, regardless Greek speaking or Slavic speaking.
There was no mixing only with muslims...

And for those from Macedonia who plot towards Armenia and Georgia the explanation is more recent.
The Pontic Greeks who were chased out of Anatolia, have settled mostly in Macedonia and today many people there, are mixed with those pontians.
