It's the north of south Italy, they speak southern dialects there. What I have seen is that in some cases geography has little to do with genetics.

Lol perché essere del sud non è una cosa che piace molto, pure gli abruzzesi si identificano col centro sebbene parlino un dialetto del sud e abbiano fatto parte praticamente da sempre del Regno di Napoli.

I did not expected to see south italian languages so inside central Italy.
