Two VERY atypical Sicilian GEDMatch results -- one Tuscan like, one Jewish like.

Trapani result is westward shifting (toward Spain and north Italy) and northward shifting (toward mainland Greece) and is closer to Tuscany than to the Sicilian average.

The Palermo result is very shifted toward Jews of all types, Turks, Levantines and is one of the most outlying results I've seen.

And to think these two provinces border one another!

It's incredible to me how different the two results are despite being from neighboring provinces. The Trapani result is halfway between Sicilian average and Tuscan, while the Palermo result is halfway between the Sicilian average and Sephardim (and is closest to Italkim Jews). Then again Palermo can more accurately be described as central, not western, Sicily.

It's incredible to me how different the two results are despite being from neighboring provinces. The Trapani result is halfway between Sicilian average and Tuscan, while the Palermo result is halfway between the Sicilian average and Sephardim (and is closest to Italkim Jews). Then again Palermo can more accurately be described as central, not western, Sicily.

He had light eyes, and my mom seems abnormally northwestern shifted for her heritage. (i.e. she shifts northwest of my grandfather)

He was a first-generation immigrant. All four of my grandparents were born in America, in the same state even.
