Assuming you mean the descendants of American slaves, yes.

I'd guess that that is the largest contribution to their European ancestry, yeah.

Only in the south I guess.

The ones in the north are descended from the ones in the south:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Migration_(African_American)

"The Great Migration was the movement of 6 million African-Americans out of the rural Southern United States to the urban Northeast, Midwest, and West that occurred between 1916 and 1970.[1] Until 1910, more than 90 percent of the African-American population lived in the American South.[2] In 1900, only one-fifth of African-Americans living in the South were living in urban areas.[3] By the end of the Great Migration, 53 percent of the African-American population remained in the South, while 40 percent lived in the North, and 7 percent in the West,[4] and the African-American population had become highly urbanized. By 1960, of those African-Americans still living in the South, half now lived in urban areas,[3] and by 1970, more than 80 percent of African-Americans nationwide lived in cities.[5]"

Yes, except for those of Gullah origins who are like 95% sub-Saharan African genetically. Even for them, the 5% is likely to mostly be English.

The only exception I can think of might be Louisiana Creoles or some of the black Louisiana residents who might have French instead, or some of the British ancestry in AAs being Scottish or Scots-Irish also, but I would imagine the average African American in Alabama, North Carolina, Mississippi for instance having some English ancestry.

Really, anyone who is not 100% SSA has to have it.

Who knows, millions of more people would have to get tested and disclose results. There are still a lot of pure blacks in the USA.

Not sure if it matters. The mass migration North was in the 1900's.

Byron Allen's son has light eyes and blonde hair. Obviously a full African will never have such a kid. Allen's wife is on the right

I would be very interested in knowing an average of African American Y-DNA. I would suspect a high amount of English haplgroups.

35% European
65% African

Though many African-American males find that their direct-line paternal ancestry is European, about 65% of African-American males have Y-chromosomes that trace back to Africa.

Yea but english ancestry is bad to them. They make fun of other african americans with more english ancestry. Saying they arent black. If its irish its not as bad to them sometimes. Some are even ok with it if its irish.

The average African-American is around 20% European genetically.

its probably a bit less considering the fact that the south has the largest afram population and the average southern is very SSA, they are between 80-90% SSA

The mean ancestry proportion of 23andMe self-reported African Americans is about 73%. A small fraction, about 2%, of African Americans carry less than 2% African ancestry, which is far less than typically seen in most African Americans (Figure S18A available online). Further investigation reveals that the majority of these individuals (88%) have predominantly European ancestry, and others carry East Asian, South Asian, and Southeast Asian ancestry, roughly in proportion to the frequencies found in the 23andMe database overall. Given the large number of non-African American individuals in the 23andMe database, even an exceeding low survey error rate of 0.02% could be sufficient to account for the number of outlier individuals we detect. Hence, we posit that these individuals represent survey errors rather than true self-reported African Americans. Exclusion of these 108 self-reported African Americans with less than 2% African ancestry from mean ancestry calculations results in a moderate rise, to 74.8%, of the mean proportion of African ancestry in African Americans.

Does that mean, according to the survey of self reported AA, 12% are pretty much 100% African? Small sample size though.

It would be good to get a decent African American average which wouldn't include those weird individuals who are not even 50% African. I would say the vast majority of AAs are 80-90% SSA, although there is a sizeable percentage of those with 25% and more European. On the one hand "mulattoes" (35-45% SSA, hence the quotation marks) get absorbed into the AA community and on the other hand African and Caribbean immigrants (90-100% SSA) also join them.
