View Full Version : Aren't Turks Semitic phenotype-wise?

Most common phenotype in Turkey is Armenoid. Then, Turanid follows it. We know that Semitic phenotypes are Arabid, Armenoid, Assyroid and Iranid. Therefore, the most common phenotype in Turkey (which is Armenoid) is a Semitic phenotype. Turanid is also a half Semitic phenotype because it is Iranid plus Tungid. What do you think?

The only thing that can be said to be a ''Semitic type'' is Arabid. Armenians and Iranians are obviously not Semites.

Turanid according to other authors has no Arabid. Turanid has also been rated as Mongoloid with CM (East Cromagnid) admixture.
Andronovo-Turanid is said to be more robust and probably even containing European Aurignacid (Pontid and Nordid, to be precise) as elements of lesser importance.

Turks are phenotypically very diverse (some look Levantine, some would fit well in Caucasus, others are Euro looking, some display Mongoloid influences, others are Iranid, etc.).

Is there another name for Eastern Cromagnid?

There is no such thing as a "Semitic" look, lol. Semites originated from the Southern Levant more than 5,000 years ago and we don't know exactly how these early proto-Semites look like.

Then it is possible to count all the people from Pakistan and Kashmir to Morocco as "Semites").

Never heard a synonym, to be honest.
It is said to be almost extinct in pure form (although it can rarely be observed).
It's sometimes found as an admix in modern types though.
Ancient Scythians of East Cromagnid type which was present in the Andronovo culture, too:

Iranids and turanids are not semitic and not related to the semitic people. iranids are orientalid - aryans, turanids are tungid-iranid-CMs.

Why do posters keep using linguistic classifications to describe phenotype?
You just attract the low IQ posters to the thread and bring down the level of discourse on this site.
