R1a is Eastern European. I1 is Nordic.

I1 is Nordic and proto-Germanic. Any real geneticist will tell you this.

I1? Depends on the clade, but R-L664 is germanic per se.

The proto-hg, can be only this which is compatible with identity-, language-, sometimes race-, or statehood bearers, so in this case it must be R1, or some of it's subclades. Haplogroups which were absorbed under way, cannot be counted, as it is in the case of I1. I1 is pre-, i.e. before IEs and Germanic, so can't be proto. Proto can be only these people who trace their lineage directly to the first IEs in Scandia, and further, to proto-proto-proto-IEs, as they bear the language, the identity, and in this case also the race, which is characteristic for newcomers, and not for aboriginals. Germanic people are Indoeuropeans, so R1. Speak indoeuropean, so R1. In addition look like Indoeuropeans, so another reason for R1 (but the look is not the determinator). Then, proto-Germanic are those subclades of R1, which originaly setteled as first in germanic homeland before Germanic dialect or identity arised i.e. I guess before any expantion from the germanic heimat took place.
