interesting that you're getting south india. It depends on who they took for the regional samples. South indian mid castes tend to cluster with meghawals who are supposedly the group that original romanis descended from. Meghawals are from rajasthan and that state is not on their database. For pakistani, northwest india and gujarat the high castes are most likely used so the best option left is the south indian region.

Would love to see more people get that test! It is a bit pricey but it is worth it! Unlike MyHeritage or other garbo companies.
The only other one that i know that is that accurate(or even more so) is Nebula Genomics.

Maybe I will do that one too because i never did whole genome sequencing before, but im not sure if i should spend more money on it because i did so many tests, 23andme, AncestryDNA, Familytreedna (both autosomal and haplogroups)...

Very cool results! I think 24Genetics is honestly underrated tbh I have results from them as well, although the accuracy for me was nothing spectacular when I got my results 5 years ago but they identified a few specific regions quite well.

It is not 1:1 accurate and with the percentages everything, but it is similar to all other tests, somewhere between 10-20% something from india, and something from balkan, europe etc. chechnya and dagestan could also be part of gypsy-anatolian or gypsy-westasian etc. a bit of that. Maybe it is not part of my ancestry from my suppossed russian great great grandfather anyways. But it is always a little similar, every test. I wouldnt trust that it is actually ancestry from chechnya or bulgaria etc. or that it gets the right region etc. But I think there is something balkan, something indian, etc. I think that is correct, and that you could guess im a gypsy by my ancestry results?

Well, as far as I have seen your results, you are very Euro + some Indian, but not much West Asian. I guess it depends on the tribe and intermixing. Even on 23andMe you have 10% West Asian while other half Roma could have even 25%. Your ratio is different. On AncestryDNA you score the same, very low West Asian.

True Im not as much westasian as your dad, there could be other ratios for different types of roma or families.

Yeah, I am 17-18% West Asian on 23andMe and I am maybe less than 1/4 Roma, maybe even 1/8. Probably my father would score around 30% which is huge for someone who is less than half Roma. I tested my father and I am waiting for the results, both, 23andMe and AncestryDNA. Stay tuned!

My Greek is from mother side. Caucasian because of his Y-DNA that is 85% found in Chechens. Persian - all Roma people have Persian ancestry, close to the Caspian Sea. They traveled and settled there.

Nothing shocking remember he only did a Raw data upload not the WGS. And Serbia has alot of Bulgar blood. If you know little history and some old maps the Croatian Kingdom boarder with Bulgaria and since Gypsis are concentrated in Serbia and Bulgaria it all makes sense.

It makes same sense with the other companies as well. You praise it so much as if everything else is wrong, i think it is similar every result i get.

Other companies could do the same like AncestryDNA or 23andMe. Nothing special.

The reason why i praise them is their methodology and they use up to date tech like illumina. And on top of that they do Whole Gebome Sequencing. Again if you get the package for 150 euros you will get your accurate results!

Nope the other companies you named don't do Whole genome Sequencing! And that is the only way to find out for sure.

Other companies also use illumina chip, like 23andme. But yes a whole genome sequencing would be interesting to get once. Because the others have only a number of SNPs not whole genome sequencing. I might consider it.

I might do nebula genomics or 24 genetics, i just went to the nebula genomics site to see what it says, there is a free dna data upload option which im doing now, i will pm you the results, and later i might order the whole genome sequencing.

Yea it is worth it you can also do the Ancestrum report with the Ancestry package. It is 50 euros extra but with that you get an even more clearer picture plus you get your paternal and maternal line.

I just looked at it, it is really expensive im not sure if i can afford it, the test is not that expensive but the liftime membership. Together it is 400 USD or even more. Not sure i can do it. I will see what the free dna data upload tells me now. I will pm you the results.

Well yea nebula is even mote pricey but you can just go with 24 genetics 150euro for WGS package and 50euro for Ancestrum.

Well once you get your 24 genetics report you order the Ancestrum report extra on the 24genetics Website. Those two companies work together. So you can order the Ancestrum report also later. So you just go with 150 euro package and whenever you feel like your order the Ancestrum report later on .
