Surely eastern Britain (including southeast Scotland) have more Germanic input than western Britain, but I think even SE England is more pre-Saxon than Saxon.

Yes, pretty much.

This is one example that is favoring the Irish. Many English that take the results plot closer to the Dutch.

The Saxons mixed with the Brits very early on from their migration, and their genetic impact is significant, especially in England. I see you highlighted North German but neglected the higher scoring North Dutch and Danish which probably are much closer to the Anglo Saxons that migrated than the current Northern German population.

On top of that, Oracadians score higher as well.. they're a mix of Scott and Norwegian. All of the populations I mentioned score pretty close to each other, all scoring under 5, this is fine combing betwintx them.

Scotland and Ulster Ireland are technically Celto-Germanic but the cultures are Celtic to differentiate ourselves from the English.

There is an East-West divide in Britain, but still it is a lot smaller than the North-South divides in France, Italy and possibly Germany.

What is this divide you speak of (evil grin) ?

Interesting.
They are more Celtic than I am. I get closer to Danes and Dutch despite being mostly English.

Because Irish are pure Celts and southeast England are pure Saxons...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

One person does not equal an average, there are overlaps but the average can be different.

Plus the central limit theorem of 20 odd individuals would be a better example if you want to prove a point, rather than one. Hard to to do, but really People of the British Isles DNA is best place to look locally. :)

The North West Europe is all fairly close, so there would be lots of overlapping.

The Anglo-Saxonness of SE England compared to other parts is perhaps overrated. I tend to think the Midlands is just as Anglo-Saxon if not more, due to subsequent immigration in the South East. Furthermore I'm not even sure the East-West divide holds entirely true, there seems to be a pattern of the NW & SE clustering together as more Germanic shifted, and the SW & NE being more Briton/Celtic shifted.

We aren’t that different. My dad is mostly south-east English and on these 3 tests he gets as top:
K13 Irish
K15 Orcadian
K16 Irish (Munster)

But there might be Irish immigrant ancestry somewhere down the line. Check GEDCOM carefully.

I found a lot of English kits with some Non-English (other British, Irish, etc.) ancestors as well.

I wouldn't take these calculators too literally. When you have Irish gedmatch results with Danish as their top population and South East English results with Irish as their top population then that kind of indicates that these calculators aren't very good at distinguishing between different North West European populations.

I'm coming to the conclusion that DNA testing, in general, is pretty useless at the moment due to the inconsistencies.

Well, it does pinpoint broader racial origins pretty well, like European, African, Amerindian, East Asian, etc.

This. All the northwest is very close. You can't really make any generalisations too much from Gedmatch as all those populations tend to get varied results. You can't really gauge if someone is "Celtic" or "Germanic". Possibly having 20 or more samples might show a bit of a pattern but people in the same family can get different results.

My no 1 pop on the K13 is North Dutch and I'm very Irish genetically.
K15 my no 1 is Irish
K16 MDLP my no 1 is Shetlandic.
