I tried it, about a year ago, at Whole Foods Market. It's available in California. I don't eat it much, but it is delicious.

My grandmother would always have homemade Armenian Yogurt for us, when we visited her in Fresno, California. We never called it yogurt, we always called it madzoon (or matzoon). She always used whole milk, mixed into a creamy culture, to thicken and sour it. i usually added a lot of sugar and cold milk, but it has better health benefits if it's not to over sweetened.

Aside from it's nourishing benefits, yogurt and madzoon provide probiotic benefits (for better digestion).

Its not, low fat and high protein, its basically a protein rich form of yogurt, may look and taste the same, but it isn't entirely.

It's probably like Kefir or Greek yoghurt. I mixed that into protein shakes back when I lifted weights.

I thought that it was Irish.

A few months ago that became so popular in Portugal that it ran out in every store. Just the latest yogurt trend, lol.

I am quite sure the one we have in here is being produced in Ireland though. It became so trendy that now instead of being sold out it is avaible everywhere and you even can find now liquid Skyr and even freaking Skyr ice-cream, lol.
