Latin Americans, do you like more (IN GENERAL) U.S.A Americans or Europeans, and why?

State your reasons, are they political, cultural or somethin else?

Do you mean our own individual opinions or us as an overall collective?

Both.

Means as collective, what is the view of Latin American mindset in general, and you as individuals :).

The working-classes are more familiar with American pop culture and are more likely to migrate to the US, so the former for them. As for the middle-classes, the business types tend to be more pro-US, while the intellectual types tend to be more pro-Europe.

USA was behaving always toward Latin Americans like Latin America is U.S. "backyard" where they can do whatever they want, as far as history goes, so for some reason I always assumed that IN GENERAL Latin americans like Europeans more than USA, but maybe I'm mistaken.

I mean, they can answer this poll however they want, they can answer based on where would they rather wanna live; somewhere in Europe or in USA, or somethin like that, it doesn't have to be political issue at all.

Americans, specifically Pennsylvania Dutch, are more intelligent than Europeans.

Interesting.

Well, to be honest... what is there to like in USA when it comes about intellectual stuff hahahahahaha :D, so that's not surprise at all, but didn't know that :).

Actually, the intellectual/professional middle-class versus business/rural middle-class is a pretty global divide. All the same, in Latin America's case I think it was most starkly illustrated in Chile in the 70's, where the intellectuals and professionals mainly supported Allende, whereas the businesspeople and landowners in many cases supported the coup.

But actually, even here in the UK, if you look at the Brexit debate the demographic splits are quite interesting: the working-classes are mainly anti-EU and think more of the Anglosphere as their friends instead. As for the middle-classes, the businesspeople and rural types are predominantly anti-EU, more right-leaning and more American-oriented in their thinking, whereas the professionals and intellectuals (this was especially evident when it came to the referendum votes in cities such as London, Oxford and Cambridge) are predominantly pro-EU, more left-leaning and more Continental-oriented in their thinking.

Hard to say.I like more iberians - specially portuguese - for roots and culture reasons.I never see a USA person in my life; the only european who I saw and had been chat was the husband of my Ant - she emigratted to Portugal and married with him.He is very cool and high character, but looks serious. At least he bought a jersey of Sponting Club to me.So, as I never had chat with a US person I dont have the right to speak anything.

Well that's nice...

Would you ever want to come to Europe? Means to live in Portugal or... somewhere else in Europe, or just visit?

Cheers

I like USA in some ways. I hate TA Americans.

On an individual basis I love Americans, have been in the states twice and was warmly welcomed, also had many interactions with them in the UK and in Brazil, we always get along.

On a cultural basis though, while I greatly admire American values such as their work ethic, mistrust of big government and their old staunch defence of capitalism against the grips of communism, I hate their over-comercialised/over-debauched "pop culture", it is a cancer that corrodes whatever local culture it comes into contact with, I hate the Hollywood elite with a passion, tele-vangelism is another disgusting corruption, this time of Christianity itself.

I love Europe for their rich culture and for being the home of Western civilisation, the home of my ancestors and also my own home. I greatly admire Western European society for its cleanliness, politeness, balance of work and life, general open minded atitude to the world outside and just being the closest to a perfect place to live as you could get.

I especially admire the British, for obvious reasons, and on an extension the whole of the Anglosphere.

But based on my admiration for the British, the generally more wholesome nature of European culture and its historical impact on the world and myself, I'll vote Europeans.

Hard to say.Even my country being ridicolous and with a lot of problems, I love my city, my state and my regional culture - these things are part of my soul and what I am.Maybe in future I visit Portugal, but only visit.

Went to Europe and US already.

The biggest problem I think is that US citizens can't see us as "neighbours" or something like that. At some point we can even say "look, we are your friends ya know" but they will just put you as a latino. I'm not saying all americans are like this, but this is how they are seen at least for me, if not the majority of latinos.

Europeans tend to have a more clinical approach; specially at some countries where latinos are uncommon. It's more like figuring each individual intentions and so goes on. Far more logical IMO.

European culture and connections are always present in Uruguay, they are the roots and shape of this country. No particular connection with USA other than music and movies. No particular sympathy for them either.

no one truly starves in the US but that is merely an expression we have in DR which basically means going thru hell

USA is basically another third world nation but more organized is all and cleaner, giving us folks from other nations false hope to feed into a system meant for the rich, giving us illusions like credit and shit, in canada it is a little bit more of an actual "land of opportunity" in which healthcare and education is free, the two most important things in a short human life like ours cause 75 years is literally nothing (we only got 50 years before we pop)

so with my short 40 to 50 years left that i got to live before i die, i rather spend it wisely in a nation that actually gives alittle shit about ppl which is canada, just need about a year until i get my BA and then im out a here for good

this is the city i live in btw, u tell me what i got to be optimistic about

Ah ok. In english for what you mean usually the word hungry is used. Starve and hungry is basically the same but for the context people usually say hungry. If you say starve people usually think you mean starve.

Dade county area I think was supposed to be one of the most dangerous parts of florida I think.

Free healthcare and free education are left leaning and modern liberal leaning ideas. Socialists leaning. What part of canada you want to move to ?

montreal, i was there about two weeks ago, i have uncle, aunt, and cousin who lives there who moved there from DR some almost 3 years ago now and they r doing better than us here and we've been here ten now and everyone i know who moved to canada is doing better than everyone i know here

if it was just a few that it went well for than id say ok its nothing, but literally everyone and what i see there is much better than here everytime i go

i dont think florida is the most dangerous one, i never experienced that kind of stuff here but from what i see on the news its pretty bad, however i think chicago and philly is way worse in crimes, but in poverty and jobs definitely not, we r the worse on that one

I haven’t been to Europe yet so I can’t give my personal opinion. But after living, reading and learning about LA after a while, I’ll say his:

1-The mercosur block and left leaning intellectuals from (Venezuela, Argentina, Uruguay,Paraguay)+ Bolivia along with Cuba and some Central Americans+Puerto Ricans have a very negative image of the United States and see it as a imperialistic power and the cause of a lot of their troubles.

2-The Pacific Alliance(Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico) along with Panama and other Central American countries seem to have a more neutral opinion of the United States, a more favorable view of capitalism and in general the US is not their priority, they seem to be more concerned on becoming developed countries by joining the OECD.
