I don't take it literally I interpret it liberally from what I know from AncestryDNA. AncestryDNA says my genetic community is Ulster Ireland and that I am a mix of Celtic (Irish/Scottish/Welsh), Anglo-Saxon with a little bit of Norse. Good luck trying differentiate between the Ulster Irish and Scots it is like impossible :

What would you say is hands-down the best way to determine admixture?

I dunno that admixture the best way to determine what tribe you belong to. AncestryDNA uses newfangled genetic communities technology that is cutting edge. It places me in Ulster Ireland via my Celtic and Anglo-Saxon admixture but it doesn't take small amount Norse admixture into account while still being accurate. It doesn't really rely old school simplistic admixture analysis it's admixture estimate is a separate technology.
