That song was popular during the Silesian Uprisings (1919-1921) and the Czech Invasion of Silesia (1919).

I'm surprised that in Ostrawa (Czech Silesia) not many Polish speakers seem to be left. It used to be >95% Silesian-speaking, right? And Silesian belongs to Polish.

But is makes sense Czech Czechiphy Silesian/Polish speakers faster than German would Germanify them.

Well not really, Ostrawa was majority Czech in 1910 (even though it was called "Polish Ostrava").

IIRC Ostrawa was mostly Polish in the Middle Ages, shortly ater the town was established - hence it was called "Polish Ostrava". But by 1900 it was mostly Czech, Poles were further to the east, as you can see in that map. But modern border still leaves a lot of Poles on Czech side - Cieszyn is at the border (split into Czech and Polish parts today). Most of Cieszyn Silesia was ethnically Polish, but it is split roughly in half, which is why there is a numerous Polish minority on Czech side.

There were two towns named Ostrava,:
Moravská (Moravian) Ostrava, located at Moravia
and
Polská (Polish) Ostrava, located at oposite bank of Ostravica river at Silesia. Polská Ostrava
was renamed to Slezská (Silesian) Ostrava and both parts were unified under common Ostrava City.

It is also a case of Czech (Moravian) speakers at Krzanowice (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krzanowice) area - polonization was more succesful than germanization.
