Modern day natural selection

Can you think of some abilities and traits that were rewarded by natural selection for most of the existence of the Human race, but now in the modern day and age for whatever reason are cause of risk,health problems and shorter lifespan thus at least theoretically destined to disappear?

As much as it may be sad , i think intelligence is much less needed now. You are right.
I'm a bit less sure about the other two, since they rely on luck. You can be brave and live,and be brave and die.

Diet alone doesn't explain it because Americans have been eating shitty since the 50's

I was reading a paper that said that the decaying rate of testosterone was favoring social behaviour and forming of big groups and tribes between the newly arrived sapiens in comparison with Neanderthals that tended to form smaller and more isolated groups .
Probably a huge factor for their taking over the latter.

Having very high levels of intelligence no longer provides the benefit that it once did thanks to Google, etc.; physical strength as well is no longer needed. Conversely, perhaps EQ now is more needed than ever, as is just the general ability to act appropriately in a large social construct. As others have noted, I think people tend to form a large number of acquaintances today, but few actual friends (at least good ones).

Women still choose more masculine, more intelligent, attractive men and men still choose more feminine, intelligent, attractive women in general. However the problem is not selection, but that due to birth control + feminism + welfare state + stagnating economy, the higher class of people hhave less children, and the lower class of people have more (especially muslims and other third world street shitters, but also the white lumpenproletariat). So the best still select the best and the worst are left with the worst, but in the past, the best genes would disproportionately survive and the worst genes would disproportionately die, now that is reversed.
