Greetings everybody. I'am new to this forum. Very happy to be among you. :D

I'm curious to know how you would classify me based on those pictures. I live in Ireland but I'am not born there and irish is not my nationality. I'm of european ethnicity, I've taken the Ancestry DNA test but still don't really know what phenotype or sub-race I belong to.

I'am actually French, but it's funny that I'am frequently mistaken as Spanish.

The family of my father is from Brittany. My grandfather is redhead with blue eyes and light-pink skin and my grandmother is quite olive skin, some rumors say that she would have a distant spanish background.

My maternal grandfather was born in Paris but his family name is typical of Occitania and has origins for Alsace/Germany and USA. My maternal grandmother was from the Dauphiné at the north of Provence.

I have taken the Ancestry DNA test, here are my results:

yet the stupid dna tests puts you as Britain > Ireland > Italy/Greece etc what a load of horsehite that thing is

About the DNA test, keep in mind that it evaluates ancestry over thousands of years. So it's not suprising that my native country is not displayed in top position. That's actually what makes the test interesting because it simply said "you are french" it would not be very interesting. I have seen DNA test taken by some other ethnic french, they got results similar to mine.

Hi folks, I'm scrolling up that thread because my results in AncestryDNA have been updated. I wondered if that may change something about your evaluation of my racial classification.

Now France is clearly shown. As for Ireland, it's probably because the family of my father is from Brittany. It's basically the same blood.

Some people have said that I could have some Berid, but I don't see any connection with the Berid subrace in those results. Moreover, Berid are said to be endomorph and I'am more ecto-mesomorph, not endomorph at all.

It's funny that many people assume that I'am Spanish while I'am not Spanish at all. I guess that's just a sort of "Pierce Brosnan syndrom" where Atlantid people are mistaken as Iberian.

It's strange. There's almost as much people guessing that I'am Polish that guessing that I'am Spanish.

It's not specific of this forum, IRL the same thing happen.

I can understand Spanish, I indeed find that there's some similarities, but I have traveled in Poland, I found that the poles had very specific features very different than of French people and that I looked nothing like them.

Polish is far from French, but it is also very far from Spain. How do I come across with such a gap? I don't get it.:laugh:
