Mostly Pontid, Atlanto-Med, Dinarid, and Alpine in various mixes, and some Nordic thrown in.

They look somewhere in between Balkan and Iberian.

I think compared to south Italians and Iberians you see more Slavic/NE Euro/"Steppe" input but honestly I think just as many of these could fit as French or dark Brits as what you could find in Spain. Similarly, there are as many exotic types as in Sicily or Calabria, but they look different (Iranic, not Semitic).

He's half Cretan, half Peloponnesian.

One thing that differentiates Sicilians from Greeks phenotypically is, Greeks have further spaced eyes. Some of these people's eyes are very wide-set.
