View Full Version : Does each of these women pass better as European, Levantine, or intermediate?

They are all Sicilian. Also if they fit better in Europe specify which region (Iberia, Greece, France, etc)
To me I'd put it like this:
Europe: 1, 6, 7, 9, 11,
Levant: 2, 5, 10
Intermediate: 3, 4, 8, 13

When you say Balkan do you mean all Balkan nations from Croatia to Greece? Or do you mean Balkan Slavic?

Depends on the case. I sometimes mean West Balkans, Bulgaria and Romania, and in other cases I include Greece and Albania in my statement, too.
In the case of these two women I meant the latter option.
When I say specifically Greek, on the other hand, I mean the person would pass well in Greece but would be atypical (or wouldn't pass) among Balkan Slavic speakers or Romanians.

Even if not Levantine, how would you group the rest of them as far as looking fully European, more Near Eastern, or a mixture? Where does the group overall fit to you?
I think many could fit in Greece but I don't think these people overall look Iberian. Some just look Italian to me also and in others I do see various MENA influences.

The rest, besides #4 (who can fit in the Levant), all safely look pretty south to even central European. Overall, the group fits in Italy, Greece and maybe even Romania and Serbia.

For what it is worth I did not select these photos, Columella did. I usually post people from west-central Sicily. I don't know where these are from :lol:
I don't agree with Serbia though. Serbs look Slavic.

Overall. Only 2 looks more Levantine than European to me. I'll give them countries later

Apart from number two who does look sort of pan-MENA, they look distinctly European to me (not all of them necessarily strictly Southern Euro either).

The only one that stands out as possible Greek to me is 7.
