Actually quite common look, I started noticing the look as a child as some of my friends had it but were of Anglo heritage. Not sure where it comes from though.

Damn indeed. Explanaition is Atlantid mixing with some strongly reduced Up or stronger Med traits like fuller Lips etc. If they would be Austrian i would guess their surname to be Dubowy :)
