While reviewing this thread you might be shocked as myself to know , there was once a country called "United Arab Republic" a Joint Unified Egypt + Syria

The impact of Colonial rule over North Africa and effect of growth post Colonial wars and how the nations went thru a similar themes of strong Military men and then assasinations

Specially the folks who were active against Israel and were Pan Arab Unity

Since North African Muslim History is not taught in Pakistan , perhaps this thread serves as a god point for improving general knowledge for folks on North African geo political growth over last 100 years

Missed out on Tunisia not intentionally just realized that just now

Very informative stuff , imagine that Egypt/Syria were once 1 Country my oh my I wonder who pushed for Syria's cetrain leader to declare seperation

Strangely for most of these countries Turkey was a none player
they were all exploited by Old Colonial powers

While ll this was happening in North African , there was a different activity taking place in Middle east (Tribes of arabia)

Most people know that Egypt/Syria were one country for few years and it was a mistake because unity wasn't built on right steps.
