Demonstrates what I have been saying for years. :)

"The Balkan Peninsula is nestled in the southeastern corner of Europe and serves as the geographic and genetic crossroads between Europe and western Asia. Despite broad cultural and religious diversity, the people of the Balkans are genetically similar to one another, descending from early Mediterranean and Slavic peoples. Island Greeks lack this ancestral Slavic influence and are similar to southern Italians."

;)

Well, last Roman Emperor was half Slavic half Greek = Constantine XI, first Ottoman Emperor was half Slavic, half Greek.

That's how far they mixed, that being said:

Slavs came to Balkans in 5th century and are mixing with various natives for 1500 years.

It's not a stretch to say that Slavic geneology is dead and that South Slavic identity is only a linguistic and cultural aspect considering that majorty of Slavs are Dinarids and Pontids.

What I am trying to say is that even 23andme now has acknowledged the fact that all Balkan people are related (even if the amount of Slavic input varies) but that island Greeks are part of a South Italian cluster, not the mainland Greek one.

Yeah they have been bashing you on forums for some time now because you had a similar view.

They should also move Finland out of the "NW Euro" cluster, it doesn't belong there genetically.

I don't like this cluster. South Slavs don't belong with Greeks and Albanians, we should have our own cluster.

You can't have own cluster because WE CAME in 5th century to already populated area, then continued to mix with various Balkan people.

Croats mixed with Hellenic natives as well, Dalmatia was a Roman province 870 – 1060s, or better to say up to Schism of Churches.

Natives of Dalmatia were Illyric, not Hellenic except on few islands :)

I don't cluster with Balkan people not to mention Greeks and Albanians and that's why I am against this cluster.

My genetic overlap is with east-central Europe not with them.

Well it's true some are more Slavic, less Balkan, but even if you have 30-40% that's A LOT considering that other Slavs have 10% max.

I am around 35%-45% Paleo-Balkan ...other slavs ? Western Ukrainians have quite a lot of Balkan for east slavic standards, Slovaks score some too, other much less to none. So it depends.

They have other admixtures we are lacking here.

well I got 58%-64% (depending on calc) and that's a lot, that can't be ignored.

Also many Croats and Serb people got 50% approximately.

That number is increasing from day to day due constant mixing with Balkan people and without NEW Slavic input (that hasn't been increased since 5th century) Slavic autosomal is on the path of destrucion.

False. There is no new Balkan input as well. Both components increasing depending on how much people of certain component have children.

And how much Slavic input those 58-64% ethnicities have? Surely not zero.

I have ~ 40% Slavic, 60% Balkan

You see, it's separated.

If Balkan component had Slavic input, it would be designated as such.
