Probably the French are the ones with an equal amount of Meds, nordics and mittle european types.

no, it's more to the north - Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia (you get there people looking from Balkan to Scandinavian and from Russian to Mediterranean in addition to various mixes that are truly pan-Euro/neutral)

More likely Austria.

The French, especially those from Central France and further north. Austrians have still too many people who look more typical for the Alps or too Germanic to be truly Pan-euro looking.

Anyway it's a place in Central Europe, not too Germanic nor too Slavic.
