Which one you think got more of aggressiveness? (We're not talking about stupid fights, we're talking about the body contact and the game, strategy,...)

Explain your answer.

As an ex rugby player I have suffered a few injuries and saw a few nasty ones but I am absolutely sure that hockey is more aggressive (though I have never played it but I watch it occasionally).

Why? Simply because in rugby contact with a player without ball is forbidden, no body checks like in hockey and the speed rugby players achieve is nothing compared to those achieved on skates.

I like rugby more though. ;)

I voted wrong. :D

Or not?...why? the speed? The razor from the skates...?
What about the fatale fractures from Rugby?...

Maybe they wear protection because they're afraid of the game...

I'd say both because they have a things that'll protect them like such as helment and other protection things, etc.

Probably hockey. If you ever watch a game, you'd be truely suprised at the amount of fist fights that are tolerated - and when I say fist fights, I mean guys actually slugging each other. As rough as rugby is, they don't do that.

I played rugby for a short period when I was younger and I can ensure you that bruises are even injuries are very common (probably due to the lack of protections), but I'd vote for hockey. Higher speeds, blades under feet, the puck, fights allowed.

Both have levels of aggersiveness but as a slight push I would go for the Hockey players because the impact of their body weight as well as the speed they are going at increases the pressure plus they are wearing more equipment.

This is also wear sometimes serious accidents happen (can happen also in Rugby) more in Hockey games.

I remember back at my school and college I used to pick Rugby and Hockey as one of the options that I really wanted to explore and get successful at but it hasn't quite happened yet.

Hockey is obviously more dynamic and intense since skating is faster than running and hockey rink is smaller than rugby field. Hockey is more aggressive with all bodychecks, boardings, fights. Hockey is more beautiful because it demands some stick-handling skills. Rugby is a primitive sport in a way, while hockey is almost an art. I don't know how you can compare the two, it's like comparing turtle to a lion.
And if you think otherwise Duncan Keith says that you are fag.

On ice you can argue slipping. Rugby is all about playing as a beast with an irregular ball. Irregular probably due to the likeliable scenario of having your spine broken at stoping to make a good shot...as a way of reduce feet play, I guess.

I remember at collegue being obligued to play rugby at physical education class instead of play soccer as was common desire. I was very angry off the moments trying to avoid receiving the ball.

Maybe they wear protection because they're afraid of the game

They used to wear a lot less protection, especially as regards helmets, until the past decade or so when regulations were tightened due to PC complaints about injuries.

American football is the toughest by far, if you exclude the fights. Part of this is due to the equipment, which leads them to hurl themselves full force with reckless abandon into eachother, often resulting in concussion or even paralyzation. Until recently, they were allowed to 'spear' with their helmets (full force into another with their helmeted head as the spearpoint) but in the past couple few years this was banned because it resulted in too many injuries. Some British kids played American football at my undergrad, they said it was a lot tougher than rugby, because in American football they tackled through the other player, instead of just trying to drag him down.

Hockey is the only competitor for toughness with American football, outside the martial arts. Yet, even with the fights, I rarely see players trucked off the field for injuries, and have never seen an ambulance come onto the field.

Also I knew some girls who played rugby, but never any who played either hockey or American football.

Ben Ross of the Sharks is placed in a neck brace by medical staff after being knocked out in a tackle during the round one NRL match between the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles and the Cronulla Sharks at Brookvale Oval in Sydney on March 15, 2008.

Since I know what's about in Hockey and Rugby aswell...I still believe injuries are more direct in Rugby than in Hockey. Hockey is pretty dangerous aswell for its speed and blades..but Rugby aswell while they dont use protection in many parts of the body and some of the injuries can be so direct..during my 12 years of playing hockey I've never been seriously injuried, I felt like a snowman with all the protection (also pointing girls are not that beast..some)..but I'm watching Rugby irl since 4 years ago and saw many beast things and injuries, even paralysis..etc.

Rugby matches seem to involve a lot of grappling. They look like freestyle wrestling matches (just more people) and they wear pretty much the same gear. I've done freestyle wrestling and its one hell of a tough sport. Ive broken two fingers and bruised ribs but it doesn't even come close to being hit hard on the ice. Collisions are nowhere near as hard in Rugby. Its not a collision sport. Its a grappling sport. They are both tough but when you ask which sport punishes the body more... Its definitely hockey.

MMA is a physically tougher sport then hockey but that doesn't mean I like it... I enjoy watching curling more lol! :D Rugby is an "interesting" sport. Enjoy it:thumbs up Just don't compare it to hockey :eusa_naughty:

Hockey is more Aggressive but I think in Rugby you are more prone to Injuries while in Hockey they wear a bunch of pads and protections.

I voted Rugby though.

I also would like to say that Soccer or European Football call it as you wish is very dangerous, having played in low Macedonian league team I have seen broken legs, nasty injuries and a lot of other shit in football.

Football is very dangerous and people always underestimate the toughness of the sport, in Soccer you get career ending injuries easily, I am lucky to never get a broken leg, many of my friends did though, I was lucky to get away with losing toe nails and swollen feet, you can't imagine the pain when a football player intentionally or unintentionally steps on your foot or toes with those spikes, it burns to the core of the heart and that is just you being lucky and not getting any of this:

Whenever I see this I cringe I don't know about u.

LOOOOL at the last PIC hahahahaha that cracked me up.

Yeah I know but I bet there is also a bunch of fights in Rugby plus what is the freaking point of fighting when the point of the game is to put that thing they throw around with those sticks in the goal, if you wanna fight get into Kick Boxing, Boxing, MMA or whatever, I think the fights in Hockey are pretty stupid and they are done in Purpose just so Hockey gets more popularity and be considered tougher ( which really is tough but overrated ) than other sports.

You can't compare the Injuries you get in Soccer with those in Hockey plus in Soccer or Rugby u are way to prone to injuries than in Hockey with those pads and Protections, for instance in Hockey you expect someone to hit you or whatever whereas in Soccer you don't and when things like those in the Pics I posted happen you will not know what hit you and you will be praying to god to tramp that injury with 5 broken teeth any day.

I am not saying Hockey is not aggressive it is aggressive but I think you are more prone to injuries in Soccer and Rugby.
