Actually, it's not so much about oil, as it is about Israel wanting Assad toppled... in the Clinton leaked emails, she stated that she wanted regime change in Syria because it would help Israel.

At this point, I think Israel's main goal is to get Iran out of the equation as it is clear Putin is adamant in wanting Assad to stay in power. But recent moves by Assad seem to indicate that he does not want Iran to leave. So the tensions are going to be rising.

It is prudent and reasonable in the eyes of Assad and his inner circle to use chemicals against rebels/islamists who barricaded themselves in tunnels, trenches and dug outs, in order to avoid heavy loses. Following chemical attacks, Syrian army enters the area, sweeping disorganized remains. The kids and women you see on tv are their wives and children who stay there with them.

I doubt it. Numerous eye witnesses in the recent Douma incident denied the Syrian army used any chemical attacks. I also do not believe they did it -- if indeed there was a chemical attack at all. Fact is, those tunnels have already been captured, when talks of an alleged attack came.
