A study argues that the European Jewish genome is a mosaic of Caucasus, European, and Semitic.

This caused some controversy years ago [1]. Eran Elhaik compared Jewish genome to Armenians and Georgians and suggested strong links to Caucasus [2]. Michael Hammer, however, disagrees [3] saying Elhaik is wrong saying so and those similarities could be explained by the fact that both have roots in the Middle East.

Either way it seems like Caucasus is a part of many Jews and not only Mountaineers. I even heard somebody reading that Mountain Jews resembled those original Jews the best. Again, i have very little knowledge on this.

Okay. It seems that Dr Eran Elhaik was really arguing that Jews didn't originate in the Middle East. European Jews however, usually lack any significant Central Asian component. So that Caucasus link works only for some Jews like Crimean Karaites and Mountaineers.

Didn't know Caucasus wolves got none of that... But yeah, i was wondering why some people reject Middle Eastern origins of the Jews.

Agree. I just added him because he looked like Lil Dicky a bit. But i think none of those real Jewish examples i listed could pass in Kavkaz. Lil Dicky looks too Ashkenazi i think. So does Dylan. Maybe Gregory Perelman could pass in parts of Kavkaz, who knows.
