Because some people here insist the two are identical when it is clear through genetics and phenotypes that mainland Greeks are not similar to Sicilians. The islanders are, and probably western Anatolian Greeks also, but that's like 10% of Greeks.

Ionian islanders have some Venetian input, but most of their ancestry is originally from the mainland unlike people in say, Kalymnos or Rhodes.

With her curley dark hairs and deep blue eyes she has a classic Greek look wether you think this is Sicilian or not she looks

She looks like a Greek with heavier NE Euro now. When young she could fit better in France. And I maintain parts of Greece do overlap phenotypically and genetically with Sicily but not the mainlanders. More so Crete, Aegean islands, Cyprus and maybe the far southern Peloponnese but absolutely not Macedonia or the north.
